The approach of summer conjures up thoughts of longer days, warmer temperatures and enjoying outdoor living. So how does concrete styling fit into this?
As the use of Concreate’s versatile engineered polished concrete floor and wall panels accelerates, we take a look at how Concreate is now being used indoors and outdoors to create architectural concrete styling that combines perfectly with summer living.
Create outdoor features that replicate cast concrete using lightweight Concreate wall panels
The versatility of the lightweight concrete wall panels is demonstrated by their application outdoors to create striking garden features.
The engineered concrete wall panels can be bonded with Concreate’s outdoor grade wall adhesive to any weatherproofed object to create structures which look and feel like fully cast concrete.
From planters to walls, alcoves to seats, adding concrete design outdoors has never been easier.
The panels are lightweight so have the advantage of being easy to work with and easy to reposition, unlike cast concrete. Be creative and create authentic concrete garden features instantly.
Seamless indoor and outdoor living combining natural surfaces
The clever use of surface materials has a huge impact on creating an almost invisible transition between the indoors and outdoors.
Installing Concreate flooring in rooms that open out to a garden creates the perfect aesthetic when paving is laid with corresponding natural stone or concrete materials. The space becomes one, ready for summer entertaining.
Take Concreate flooring outdoors
You could go one step further in creating this seamless transition, and install Concreate floor panels outdoors. While the floor panels currently only carry a guarantee for indoor use, customers have bitten the bullet and combined their indoor and outdoor surfaces with Concreate.
To see how Concreate flooring fared outdoors we installed a Concreate floor testing pad at our HQ, which has sat out in the unpredictable UK weather for two full years. It still looks as good as the day it was laid.
No better summer testament than The RHS Chelsea Flower Show
We were delighted to work with renowned garden sculpture Brendan Hesmondhalgh last year as he exhibited his incredible animal sculptures at The Chelsea Flower Show. Brendan’s sculpture garden was inspired by the simple lines and symmetry of classical Rome, but he replaced stone and marble with contemporary concrete.
The challenge for Brendan was to get the garden built and planted in under a week, so Concreate’s lightweight concrete wall panels were the ideal solution, creating a dramatic concrete backdrop featuring walls, alcoves and planters clad in the panels, which combined with a Concreate floor.
This short film shows how Brendan’s Sculpture garden came together with the help of Concreate Wall Panels.
Concreate floor and wall panels are available in five different colour options, mineral white, natural grey, metal grey, titanium black and dark grey. If you are inspired to add concrete features to your outdoor living this summer why not order a free sample pack.
